I do preparation for many collectors, dealers, and several museums. After decades working on every type of fossil imaginable, I have come to realize that form and composition can be as important as rarity. Matrix plays an important role in this concept. No one notices the frame on a painting, but it plays an important role in the overall presentation of the artwork. I spend a lot of time working on the matrix of a specimen because it is so important to the flow and appeal of that piece. Stands are also extremely important.
